Diarrhea and Treatment

Diarrhea and TreatmentDiarrheal disease or defecate diarrhea is one of the diseases that often about babies and toddlers. What is diarrhea? What should be done? What are the causes of diarrhea? This diarrhea can be prevented? How should treatment of diarrhea?

What is Diarrhea?

If your baby or child’s sudden change in bowel movements than usual, both the frequency / amount of waste water to be used, and out in the liquid than solid consistency, it is diarrhea.

A newborn baby will generally defecate for more than ten times a day, and larger babies will have bowel time each day there are 2-3 times a day, or there are only 2 times a week. In other words you need to know what is NORMAL for your baby or child from the habit of their bowel.

Cause of diarrhea:

* Virus (most common cause of diarrhea – and usually because Rotavirus) symptoms: Berak-poop water (watery), foamy, blood NO mucus, sour smell.
* GE (stomach flu) most of the virus.
* Bacteria – Berak2 with blood / mucus, abdominal pain. —- Requires antibioka as drug therapies.
* Parasite (Giardiasis) – Berak blood + / – and mucus, abdominal pain .—— need antiparasite
* Children’s therapy with the use antibiotilka – If diarrhea occurs when a child is in the treatment of antibiotics, then call your doctor.
* Allergies milk, – diarrhea usually occurs a few minutes or hours after drinking the milk, usually in allergy to cow’s milk and products made from cow’s milk.
* Infection of bacteria or viruses that accompany other diseases; such as urinary tract infections, ear infections, measles, etc..

Symptoms of Acute Diarrhea (Diarrhea Sudden):

The cause of acute diarrhea (sudden diarrhea) are linked because the virus, typical poop-poop water (watery), foaming, NO blood or mucus, and smelled of acid.

Diarrheal disease transmission is contact with infected feces directly, such as:

- Food and beverages that have been contaminated, either already contaminated by insects or contamination by dirty hands.

- Playing with toys contaminated, especially in infants often include hands / toys / anything into the mouth. Because the virus can survive on the surface the air until a few days.

- Use of water sources contaminated water and not cooked properly

- Washing and use of milk bottles that are not clean.

- Not washing hands thoroughly after defecation or cleaning feces infected children, so that contamination of the furniture and equipment held.

Diarrhea Treatment

Because the causes of acute diarrhea / diarrhea is a sudden virus linked, then NO treatment that can heal, because it usually will heal by itself after a few days. So diarrhea treatment is intended to treat existing symptoms and prevent dehydration or lack of fluids.

Acute diarrhea can be cured by continuing ONLY usual feeding and drink / just enough fluids.

To remember NOT to give drug treatment to stop the diarrhea, since diarrhea itself is a body defense mechanism to remove the contamination of food from the gut. Trying to stop the diarrhea with drugs such as clogging the pipeline that will go out and cause back-flow and will aggravate the channel.

Because the diarrhea is the body’s defense mechanism, will heal itself after a few days – (14 days) which contains more diarrhea – from water (watery) began berampas, it reduced the frequency and recovery.

The important thing is to prevent the diarrhea and dehydration symptoms.
